AZNet BBS β Overview
AZNet BBS is a modern reimplementation of CNet Pro, a historically significant BBS platform originally developed for Amiga systems.
The project focuses on:
- Authentic behavior
- Clean internal architecture
- Learning-focused implementation (asyncio)
AZNet is not a web forum or retro skin β it is a real text-mode BBS.
Why AZNet Exists
- CNet Pro had a uniquely cohesive SysOp and user experience
- Modern systems lack a clean reference BBS implementation
- asyncio enables scalable, readable, single-threaded servers
- This project preserves legacy ideas without legacy constraints
What AZNet Is
- A telnet-accessible BBS
- ANSI text interface
- Node-based session management
- Centralized SysOp control panel
What AZNet Is Not
- A modem emulator
- A web UI
- A partial clone or theme
